Over the course of the last 5 years, Websoft has completed various projects for the City of North Las Vegas. The initial deployment was a MapGuide Enterprise based FacilitiesMap implementation. The City’s FacilitiesMap framework contains over 200 layers and connects to many different data sources within the City including SQL, SQL Spatial, Oracle, and Access. The City uses their highly-integrated Enterprise Asset Management System to realize both internal asset administration and mobile work order management. This system allows users to geographically visualize their assets along with the associated open and closed work orders. This highly integrated system allows users to view information from either a map-first or work-first perspective. The GIS framework eliminates the need for background synchronization since the asset information is linked directly to the native asset source data in its spatial database, sdf, or shape file format. Maps can be displayed directly from a variety of sources including Autodesk Mapguide and ESRI ArcGIS Server.
The integrated Maintenance Management System (MMS) allows administrators to tailor their form configuration to suit their maintenance work flow and administrative needs. The simple dynamic forms allow asset specific information to be displayed based on the asset type thus preventing erroneous information from being entered and instead focused data to be inputted. The geographical asset-based information allow work crews to more efficiently route their tasks while allowing administrators to more effectively identify and address problem areas with preventative maintenance or capital improvement planning.
